What is integrative medicine or holistic medicine?

The terms integrative medicine and holistic medicine have often been used interchangeably as they both take into account the whole person (holism) and address all aspects of lifestyle including dietary, emotional, physical, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health. Integrative medicine emphasizes the therapeutic partnership between patient and physician in the healing process and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative so long as they are based in good science.
